Volcanes : Llullaillaco




LLullaillaco Volcano at  (6760 m.s.n.m.)  located in the border between Chile and Argentina, is the highest archeological place in the world, in the top of the volcano took place the highest Inca burial of the world. Today, you can see the mummies found ther in the Llullaillaco’s museum located in Salta city.

You will be amazed for the beautiful lanscape, you can see guanacos and some birds.

The ascent will take 5 days, South-West, previous process to acclimatize, this take place in San Pedro de Atacama.

Route:  
Day 1:
The trip starts at 9am from San Pedro de Atacama, arriving around 5pm to our first camp at 4200 m.s.n.m.

Day 2:
Trekking to acclimatize at 5000 m.s.n.m. then, we go back to the base camp.

Day 3:
We go from the base camp to the first camp at 5200 m.s.n.m., trekking for about 5 hours.

Day 4:
From the first camp to the second camp at 5800 m.s.n.m. trekking for about 5 hours.

Day 5:
From the second camp to Cumbre, around 6 hours of hiking. Then we go back to San Pedro de Atacama.
